About the program
The program trains creative developers and researchers in the fields of radio communication systems, medical diagnostics, navigation, and wireless technology algorithms.Students acquire extensive knowledge in radiophysics and radio engineering and learn cutting-edge methods for calculating, modeling, and prototyping radio modules and antennas, as well as systems for digital signal and image processing.
During the program, students develop their skills by being actively involved in team projects guided by experts of ITMO’s Faculty of Physics and its industrial partners. Working on these projects may help students receive job offers and set their career path.
Among the project fields:
– mobile devices, LTE and 5G;– 6G systems;
– space communications;
– MRI technologies;
– wireless power transfer devices;
– radio frequency positioning and identification, etc.
Depending on the project topic, students can choose one of three educational tracks:
–Adaptive Antenna Systems and Complexes;–Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologies and Methods;
–Wireless Algorithms (with Bureau 1440).
Upon recommendation by the head of the program, students are offered a project-oriented track with a reduced study load and a heavy focus on the project.
Students can also fast-track their R&D career by:
– choosing projects led by experts;– completing their internships at partner companies;
– combining studies and work at the company.

Graduates pursuing an academic career can:
