I enrolled in the program through my USE results in 2022. The program had just opened at the time and immediately stood out for its cutting-edge courses and high relevance to business tasks. I was drawn by such an unconventional approach.

As a fourth-year student now, I appreciate the most how actively engaged business partners are in the educational process; during their classes, we discuss pressing issues and explore the pitfalls of our future career path.

What I like about the faculty is that they are always open to dialogue and are ready to fine-tune the curriculum to ensure students get the most of it.

At ITMO, they say your career path starts during your studies – and it’s absolutely true! As early as my second year, I had the chance to try myself in teaching, administration, and research activities, all under an employment contract with the university. This helped me figure out which field I enjoyed the most.

As for extracurriculars, there are just as many opportunities. I lead a student club, organize city and national events, and manage the faculty’s student community. This year, I was fortunate enough to attend the National Youth Environmental Forum in Kamchatka.

ITMO indeed offers an abundance of opportunities for growth. The key is to choose what you love and not be afraid to reach out to your lecturers and the faculty’s administration.

FAQ

Can I apply online?
Yes. If you want to apply online, you need to submit scanned copies of all the required documents via your personal account on the admissions website. You can learn how to do it here.

How difficult will the program be for students who aren't good at physics?
Each first-year student is invited to take an optional course in physics to brush up on their skills and therefore feel calmer and more confident while studying the module.

Can students take part in the faculty’s events?
They can and they should. Our students take an active part in open days, olympiads, and exhibitions; they are ambassadors of their faculty in their hometowns and can bring together like-minded peers at their own student clubs. What’s more, they also join sports, creative, and research activities at the university and win awards.

Does the program include a lot of practice?
Yes, we stand for a practice-oriented approach so our first-year students have the chance to meet industry experts as part of their Introduction into Professional Activity course, second-year ones – go on a field trip to Yagodnoe, and third-year ones – have their internships at partner companies such as Beeline or GreenZoom, or any other of their choice.
