Bioeconomics and Resource Management

We had a module-based system during our studies, which was a plus for me. Thanks to this approach, students can focus on studying just one subject without being overwhelmed by a pile of deadlines on different courses at the end of a semester. That’s a great alternative to the classic system. The soft skills module deserves a special mention. All the notes and presentations from the course on time management came in even more handy after graduation.

The core courses were mostly about practice for me as the center emphasizes student research, namely conducting studies, writing research papers, and participating in conferences. Separately, I'd like to note the ample opportunities for mastering methods of instrumental analysis and mathematical processing of results. While working on my thesis, I also managed to explore chemometric analysis methods.

As a student, I got into a corporate course by Gazprom Neft’s Research and Technology Center where I dove deep into the chemical aspects of working with hard-to-reach deposits, got to know the core business processes at companies, and improved my competencies on the company’s own platform. I also passed the selection for the case championship EnerGeniy and represented our university at the final round in Surgut, Russia.

I’m now a senior quality engineer at Tikkurila. I can safely say that the program helped me enhance key skills and competencies that I apply every day.
