About the program
Information Technologies in Thermal Physics is a joint Master’s program by ITMO and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University for future specialists working at the intersection of thermal physics, computer technologies, materials science, and engineering analysis.During their studies, students will explore numerical modeling of heat-exchanging processes, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), automation, monitoring, and diagnostics of thermophysical systems, and the use of machine learning and data processing to improve the reliability of engineering solutions.
The program is designed for Bachelor’s graduates with degrees in thermophysics, energy, physics, applied mathematics, computer sciences, and other related engineering and technical fields who would perform engineering modeling and programming, and develop advanced technologies for science and the industry.
The program offers an option to receive two diplomas by the end of your studies – from ITMO University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
Studies
1st semester – home university (ITMO or Al-Farabi Kazakh National University);
2nd semester – Al-Farabi Kazakh National University;
3rd semester – ITMO University;
4th semester – selecting a supervisor and a place of thesis defense.
The final defense is held by both ITMO and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in the format of an online conference.
