About the program

With this Master’s program in web technologies, you will become an expert in web analysis and tools, as well as master creative thinking and scientific writing in the field of the ecosystems of web languages and new takes on solving common tasks and predicting the development of web technologies.The program offers courses on the analysis of web technologies and solutions and programming languages, including JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, and Java. Within two years, students explore the market, conduct experiments, exchange tried-and-tested front- and backend practices, take part in meetups and conferences, and make their projects happen using the perfect mix of tools, be it React, Effector, TypeScript, GraphQL, Node.js, Deno, or JWT.

The program takes into account all the peculiarities of the industry and keeps pace with the times. My thesis, for instance, was devoted to the development of isomorphic web applications, which are a novel yet highly-promising phenomenon in web technologies. The program provides knowledge and skills needed to explore the topic and develop relevant apps.

Applications can be submitted to the Rossotrudnichestvo office at a Russian Embassy/Consulate or an office of the Russian Center of Science and Culture.

FAQ

Do I need to study JavaScript before applying?

Although our curriculum includes advanced courses on JavaScript and TypeScript, it will be easier for you if you have some programming skills by the time you get to the university.

Do I need to write research articles?

Students are expected to have at least two publications over the course of training. Applicants with RSCI-level (Russian Science Citation Index) papers will have an advantage when applying to the program.

Is it possible to study online?

The program’s format is determined by the university. However, some courses, like, for instance, Machine Learning Methods will be studied online regardless of the program’s format.

Can I combine work and studies?

Only in the case when it doesn’t interfere with your studies. We particularly recommend getting a job where you can work on the practical application of your research.

What if I already chose a topic for my thesis?

That’s great and much appreciated! Keep working on those ideas to quickly integrate them into the research process.

I want to dive deep into web technologies but I can’t write academic papers. Should I apply?

Definitely. Here, you will learn, among other things, how to write scientific papers and get them published.
