About the program
This program trains next-gen researchers and engineers who can develop green technologies for the energy and industry sectors.It is designed for chemists, engineers, ecologists, and technologists wishing to work at the intersection of science and innovation. You will learn to design smart catalysts and sorbents, develop materials for batteries and hydrogen energy, and optimize chemical processes through transforming waste into valuable resources.
From day one, you will be able to work at the university’s laboratories and complete projects for industry partners, as well as intern at enterprises and work in international research teams.
Students of the program can opt to enroll in the track Modern Aspects of Oil and Gas Industry implemented jointly with Gazprom Neft.
Students are selected for the track during their first semester following their internships at the Gazprom Neft-ITMO Research and Education Center and defense of cases provided by the company.
Among other benefits of the program are:– individual learning tracks;

What projects are students involved in?
Students primarily implement their projects at Energy Lab or Flexible Electronics and Robotics lab (FEAR Lab). For the majority of projects, their key field of research is energy. Alternatively, you can work on your own ideas with the assistance of industry partners.
Here are some of the projects our students are working on:- High-entropy Alloy Nanoparticles Produced by Carbothermal Shock for Application in CO2 Conversion and Water Splitting;
- Nanostructured Systems for Water Purification and Heavy Metals Sorption;
- Electrocatalytic Conversion of Biomass Oil into High-Value Compounds, etc.
