About the program
Enter the program and learn to solve complex problems in chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutics, materials science, and other natural sciences with the help of a few lines of code.Our program isn’t about quantum chemical calculations on existing algorithms; it is about new challenges and innovative approaches meant to tackle unconventional tasks. From the very beginning, you will have the chance to work on your own projects or join an existing team, as well as find a mentor among our center’s staff who have themselves walked the path from chemistry to data science.
Fret not, if you have no coding skills – we will teach you! We teach students using real-life cases. Instead of repetitive experiments in wet labs, we apply mathematics, statistics, and algorithms to build our own platforms and systems for users all over the world. Our teaching staff are PhD and DSc holders from the industry and scientific organizations: Skolkovo, the University of California, Berkeley, and Emanuel Institute of Biochemical Physics RAS (IBCP RAS).
This Master’s program is a response to the increased demand in specialists who can employ machine learning algorithms in natural sciences. Hence, in 2024, we’re launching a new specialization, Artificial Intelligence in Petrochemistry, in collaboration with Tatneft. Within the program, students acquire competencies necessary to optimize the processes of searching, extracting, transporting and processing oil and gas raw materials to achieve maximum conversion at each stage of the production cycle.

Career
After you receive your Master’s, you can build a career in one of three fields:
Academia: you can continue to work on scientific projects as part of your PhD at the top universities in Russia or abroad. Though there are few Master’s programs at the intersection of chemistry and AI, the demand for such experts is ever-increasing. Over the course of your Master’s, you will enhance your portfolio with publications in Q1 and Nature Index journals and ready-made custom solutions, which will open up more career opportunities;
Industry: you can opt to work at major pharmaceutical, chemical, oil and gas, engineering, or IT companies. Their R&D departments conduct R&D activities, work with unconventional tasks, and look into various fields, including natural sciences. In this case, you can also opt to grow in chemistry or data science, or become a one-of-a-kind expert with competencies in both fields;
Startups: in the program, you can be involved not only in research but also product projects. Thanks to the uniquely structured educational process, an entrepreneurial focus, and interactions with mentors, you will be qualified to set up your own startup and receive your first investments by the time of your graduation.
You will get to work at these companies
