About the program
This program trains students to use computer technology and robotics to model, predict, and control the course and performance of chemical processes and immediately implement their knowledge in biomedicine, biochemistry, and foodtech. The key courses of the program are AI and machine learning in chemistry, robot programming, chemometrics, chemoinformatics, molecular dynamics, and molecular self-assembly. Some courses are delivered in English.
Students have the opportunity to physically put into action the knowledge learned in the classroom through working on ongoing research at ITMO laboratories. Such cases include: using charged polyelectrolytes to assemble active components of bacteria-, virus-, or ions-detecting sensors layer-by-layer; embedding a molecule within another molecule in order to achieve targeted drug delivery; creating self-healing films; synthesizing artificial nerve and bone tissue to produce implants; and creating robot assistants for labs and enterprises. By the way, we have two robot assistants ourselves that you can train for your tasks: a manipulator robot arm or the industrial robot Kuka. This Master’s program was developed in cooperation with industry leaders.

Career
Possible places of employment include scientific laboratories, manufacturing facilities, design offices, and think tanks. Specialists that know chemistry and are able to code and create robots are highly sought-after by companies. Such specialists develop systems for personalized health monitoring, ML-assisted big data processing and analysis, and integration of industrial robotics and IT into chemical manufacturing. They design and model production processes, while also being well-versed in supercomputers and novel composite materials.
You will get to work at these companies
